A Week in the Swiss Alps
Our
hiking week in the Swiss Alps is based in the mountain village of Zermatt,
at the end of a steep cog railroad line. We stay in the same comfortable
apartments all week, but a network of lifts and cog railways allows us
to hike through entirely different surroundings each day: A field of wildflowers
one day, mountain streams the next, and deep river chasms. One day we
hike onto a glacier; another, we follow a high ridge trail with spectacular
views of many 4,000-meter mountains.

We also offer Alpenglow, a holiday based in the same Swiss village of Zermatt, but offering longer hikes and an overnight stay in a mountain hut, while still leaving flexibility for each hiker...
...and Grindelwald, is based in the charming Swiss village of the same name. Here, in the Bernese Oberland, under the Monch, Eiger and Jungfrau peaks, we'll hike amidst the alpine scenery of chocolate-box covers and calendar illustrators.

Our Tuscan week starts with a night in Florence, then we split our time between two picturesque villages: Radda, set
amidst forests and Chianti wine country; and the medieval fairy-tale village
of San Gimignano, so entrancing you may take off a day from hiking to
explore its winding streets and ancient belltowers.
